only a memory

I’m not the emperor of a wealthy dynasty or the dictator of an oil rich nation state. This means, much to my dismay, I’m not able to have a gargantuan gilded temple in the shape of Rex’s head constructed in his memory. I looked into it. Too expensive. Instead, I spent some time last week on Snapfish.com compiling my favorite photographs that I’ve taken of Rex over the years and creating a photo book as a tribute. It arrived today. It’s a thin, glossy, hardcover tribute to my buddy. It was somewhat pricey, but worth it, because I like having all the pictures in one place. It’s nice to know I can look at it whenever I like and share it with Becky, Tom, and others when they visit.

  1. Becky says:

I think that book is a wonderful keepsake and tribute, and I wanted and still want to sit down with it, but for some reason when you opened it tonight my throat got full of tears and I was afraid I’d start bawling which might make you cry (for the millionth time) and apparently this is the most run-on sentence ever about how much I miss Rex.
